Night School

Adults attend night school 5 nights a week. This collective group of students is made up of community members who previously didn’t have the opportunity to receive an education. We are honored to introduce you to one of the night school teachers and two students.

Beatrice was hired as a night school teacher at Hope International after the passing of long-time teacher Moses Brosius Jr. She is a single mother to 4 children and is grateful for the stable employment at Hope.

Moore
8th GRADE, AGE 20
NIGHT SCHOOL student

Moore grew up in Bong county where access to educations was limited. He moved to Monrovia to live with a friend, where he rides a bike to get food and go to school. Moore has been trying to support himself for the past 8 years and working to get an education. He says, “I believe education will bring me closer to success. I am grateful for Hope. It is one of the best places to get a better education. It is well electrified, has good teachers, and I have made some amazing friends here too.”

Musu
9th GRADE, AGE 16
NIGHT SCHOOl student

Musu lives in the Palm Hill community, a 20-minute walk to school. Her family didn’t have the resources to send her to school, so Musu has been working to sponsor herself. She says, “it has been hard on me, but I keep pushing because I want to see my parents smile and happy. I am grateful for Hope, because tuition is almost free, besides small registration fees. Other schools that are not even developed like Hope charge more, so I am grateful for the help from The Hope Project.”
