The Dream Team is Green

Friends of Hope,

Today, Michael and I were given uniforms and invited to see the amazing work that our Community Sanitation partner Gabriel and his dedicated team at Green Planet Environmental Services, are doing in the school's neighborhood community of ClapusTown.

Gabriel and his team have made what once seemed impossible, possible. The cleanup work is slow, and it is hard, but exciting things are happening.

When I return, I look forward to sharing with you through a series of stories all the Community Sanitation team is working hard to accomplish. Together, there is so much for us to celebrate and bigger dreams to dream for Hope International and all who dwell nearby.

Together, we are The Hope Project.

No MELONcholy Here

Friends of Hope,

After a very exuberant welcome that involved 100 staff and students showing up to greet us at the airport, and one broken down bus, we arrived at our friend Joseph’s home in Liberia around midnight.

The very next day, Abu’s father, Mr. Kamara, showed up (unexpectedly, and from a long distance) to Joseph’s home. He brought with him four melons to express his deep gratitude that his son, Abu, who has been waiting for the opportunity, is now able to attend university.

We shared tears and melons and gratitude for the generosity of the Williams Friendship Fund for making it possible for Abu to attend university and for all of you who helped him get to that place.

Together, we are The Hope Project.
