Class of 2022

Friends of Hope,

113 excited graduating seniors and 1,800 proud supporting relatives, teachers and community members gathered over the weekend to celebrate together.

While stateside graduations are often held in June, in Liberia students must anxiously await results from the West African Senior School Certificate Exam (WASSCE). Once these results arrive, the festivities can be planned! All seniors in the Class of 2022 passed the exam this year. Whoo hoo!

There were 7 legacy students acknowledged who had been at Hope International since kindergarten. Congratulations graduates!

You, the teachers, the students, together making educational dreams possible.

Celebrating Together,
Jackie Frazier
Executive Director

Immediate Impact

This is what immediate impact looks like in Liberia:

• Last week we received funds for 302 chairs.

• Thursday, we sent the generosity to Liberia.

• Friday, they picked up the gifts and went straight to Abraham (pictured), the shop owner who has been making chairs and desks for Hope International over the years. Abraham and his crew worked all weekend.

• Sunday, the chairs were loaded and set up in the classrooms for the arrival of excited students Monday morning.

If you would like to share a chair, there is still time and a need for 198 more chairs.

Abu Receives His Due

We have such amazing news to share with you. Abu has been granted a long-awaited scholarship to attend college.

Abu lost his mother to Ebola in 2014. Hope International remained a place of stability for him. He continued to work hard and committed to his studies, becoming the valedictorian of the graduating Class of 2020.

Through the generosity of a gift from the Williams Friendship Fund, we were able to share the exciting news with Abu that his long-awaited dream is happening.

He is registering this week and is filled with hope and excitement for his future. So are we Abu, so are we.
