5 Scholars HOPE for Opportunity

Dear Friends of Hope,

The class of 2021 has now graduated and been celebrated. Together, we have supported these 103 students in achieving their milestone of a high school diploma.

Each year, we have the goal of awarding university scholarships for the top two graduates. Very few of them have the means to pursue a college education. Without scholarships, attending university is a near impossibility.

To date, through the generosity of this community, 13 students have had this dream realized.

Currently, we have 5 graduates, the top of their Hope International classes (2020 and 2021), who are awaiting this opportunity. We are looking for individuals or groups that would partner with these graduates to help them achieve their college dreams. Please meet two of these dream chasers.

Partner with Hope

We are hoping that some of you who learn of this might want to help. The costs for university are around $1,600 a year. It’s a big commitment with an enormous impact.

People have been creative in combining their resources to provide scholarship opportunities. Families, book clubs, giving circles coming together to support these graduates in their goals of continued education. Families of the students help in whatever ways they are able and with your generosity, a beautiful opportunity is created.

Hope in Sorrow and Celebration

Dear Friends of Hope,

This was a significant weekend for The Hope Project.

On Friday, January 14th, Naomi Nyankoon, Hope International’s beloved Vice Principal, was laid to rest. Hundreds of family, friends and students gathered to mourn together and celebrate her legacy.

On Saturday, January 15th, 103 Hope International seniors graduated! The class of 2021 has endured much, and the joy was palpable as family, friends and staff joined together to celebrate alongside of them.

Through sorrow and celebration, Hope remains. Together, we are The Hope Project.
