#Winning

Hope International School is proud to announce its soccer teams are on a winning streak. The girls team recently advanced to the semi-finals and the boys soccer league brought home a win against one of the top schools in Gardnersville!

Soccer is not only an acclaimed sport at Hope International but all across Liberia. In fact, George Weah, Liberia’s 25th president, was named African, European, and World Player of the Year in 1995 - an unprecedented achievement. His talents on the field were equaled by his activism on behalf of his homeland, where he worked to bring an end to a long civil war and then became active in politics. Weah was elected to a Senate seat in 2014 and has served as president of Liberia since January 2018.

Perhaps one of our students will follow in President Weah's footsteps. With your generosity big dreams like this are possible.

Together, we are The Hope Project.

You Give Outside The Box.

$25,000 for HOPE!

When we were faced with trying to raise the funds needed to keep the school afloat for another year, without an event that has been an anchor in past years, we were a bit fearful.  We needn’t have been. Once again, as you always do, you made the seemingly impossible, possible.

You ordered our boxes and lovingly prepared meals. You shared meaningful conversations around your own tables and you sent us kind words and photos.

You also sent money. Money that is essential to the work we have partnered in with our friends in Liberia. The money that keeps the school humming along for the year. We did that together.

Aside from all of you givers and (un)Eventers, there are friends and businesses who gave from their hearts to make this (un)Event a reality.

Thank you seems so small, but trust me, our gratitude is deep and large.

One shirt. One girl. Take 3!

This week is the 6-year anniversary of our very first One shirt. One girl. t-shirt design release.

6 years ago, we saw the art of Skylar Martinez, a local high school student from Leavenworth, Washington. We asked her if she would share her art in an effort to raise the funds to send one girl, Debora Gibson, to college in Liberia. In combination, a particular magic unfolded.

You bought shirts and we started to see them everywhere. This one shirt provided one girl with a nursing degree in December 2019.

A second design was created by another local high school student, Grace Rodriguez, to support Christiana Menyon's college dreams. Christiana is attending university and will graduate in nursing.

It is with great hope that we announce that Skylar Martinez will be creating a third design for a summer 2021 release. With these shirt sales, another Hope International graduate will have her college dreams realized.

Stay tuned!
