Cooking Up Hope.

And the good vocational news just keeps on growing!

Once again, Project Redwood of Tides Foundation partnered with us to create a culinary vocational certification opportunity for the students and surrounding community of Hope International.

In December 2020, our Liberian partners began the process of purchasing ovens, pots, pans and other supplies and shortly after, the first class began Cooking Up Hope.

Students are being trained in traditional and modern cooking methods, baking and cake decoration, catering and food service in the hospitality industry.

Instructors, Samara Sumo and Melvin Gibson Sr., have created a program that will prepare students for employment and cottage industries.

This work happens when we all collectively come together. We are grateful for Project Redwood's commitment to Liberia and sponsoring work that addresses extreme poverty. And to our Hope partners that created and continue to support this community gem, we extend our deepest gratitude.

We would love for you to join us at (un)Event on Saturday, April 24 to celebrate all the good flowing from our little/big school. To learn more and to purchase a Box of HOPE, click here.

Who is ready for an (un)Eventful 2021? We are hearing promising murmurings that this summer may mark a transition to this tragic season. We are now officially living in the now and not yet.

Each year at our annual celebration and fundraising event, we have so looked forward to coming together in-person, sharing a meal, and celebrating with you all that is happening in Liberia. Gathering in-person invigorated us all.

Things look different again this year and we had to think outside of the box. We wanted to create something celebratory and hopeful amid a worldwide pandemic that was beautiful and meaningful and inclusive of all ages. This led us to the creation of an actual box, a Box of HOPE. We believe we have come up with something quite special and impactful.

Will you join us around your table on Saturday, April 24th by ordering a Box of HOPE for our Annual Celebration and Fundraiser?

Your presence, even if we cannot see you, makes all the difference. The venue has changed but the love remains. We hope to share the evening with you and toast to an (un)Eventful 2021.

Together, we are The Hope Project.

Such a Good Day.

On Saturday, February 27th, Hope International’s first Sew Much Hope class graduated. This is a big deal! The first vocational class to graduate at our school. As part of the celebratory day, each student sewed their own graduation attire. How wonderful is that?

Learn about the micro-loans 20 graduates received and how we are hoping to honor future graduates by visiting https://mailchi.mp/hopeproject/it-was-such-a-good-day. While there, subscribe to stay connected to all the beauty unfolding in Liberia.
