Full Shelves and Full Hearts

Medical Clinic 2020 2.JPG

This week we received photos of our freshly-spruced medical clinic interior and newly stocked shelves. Through a Facebook Birthday Fundraiser over $1,500.00 was raised to fill these shelves that serve so many.

The medical clinic is staffed by our on-site nurse, Sonnie Guzeh. In one month alone this year, Sonnie treated 15 cases of malaria, 10 infections, 20 common colds and 12 cases of parasites within the school and neighboring community.

Sometimes the impact of this big/little school seems ginormous. Sometimes it seems as small as a band aid. Sometimes it is both.

We are nearing the year-end and are right around $8,000.00 away from our year-end goal of $20,000. If you are looking for a way to have impact in the world that is both big and small, we would welcome your partnership.

Look at Smith Shine...

Smith+Graduation.jpg

We got the call this weekend and it was pure jubilation. Smith phoned to share the moment as he left his graduation ceremony at William V.S. Tubman University in Harper, Liberia. Like many students who were set to graduate in June 2020, it has been a season of postponements. Smith’s graduation, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, is a highlight of the year for us.

This is the degree that HOPE built. Smith, supported by his family + his teachers, and Joseph + others who heard and responded. This is what we are good at: relationship, partnership, and revolutionary HOPE.

Please take the time to read Smith’s Story of Hope. Consider it your self-care for today because it will do your heart that much good.

We Asked and You Answered!

Thank you Teachers.png

Dear Friends of Hope,

Together, we did it! On GivingTuesday we asked and you answered. Your generous hearts helped us to raise $3,500 for our hardworking teachers and staff. Your collective gifts will make their holidays brighter. Our hearts are full and we thank you for giving so deeply.

Grateful for you. Grateful for them.
