We Asked and You Answered!

Thank you Teachers.png

Dear Friends of Hope,

Together, we did it! On GivingTuesday we asked and you answered. Your generous hearts helped us to raise $3,500 for our hardworking teachers and staff. Your collective gifts will make their holidays brighter. Our hearts are full and we thank you for giving so deeply.

Grateful for you. Grateful for them.

Meet Those That Give Everyday.

Is there a day that teachers do not GIVE?

As is the tradition at The Hope Project, we honor our teachers during the month of December with a holiday cash gift. The teachers tell us over and over how this ongoing expression of love and support makes the holidays beautiful for their families and communities.

The staff in Liberia works in a challenging educational system with far too few resources. We know that. We see them. There is no federal retirement system for teachers. No national health care insurance. What they receive (aside from the heart benefits) is what we collectively send. GivingTuesday provides us with the chance to honor their work and their commitment to the future of Liberia.

This past week we were able to invest in educational training for the teachers. University lecturers provided ongoing education for our elementary and night school teachers. It was made special by serving biscuits and coffee in the morning and a rice and beans lunch. The messages of gratitude from teachers were reminders that these teachers do so much with minimal extras. This week the same will happen for our Jr. and Sr. High teachers. The teachers reported feeling rejuvenated and encouraged to start the new school year (remember they have been finishing the 2019-2020 school year) and will now be starting the 2020-2021 school year at an accelerated rate. Just another example of our educational staff shining!

We are setting a goal of raising $3,500 to benefit our Liberian teachers and staff. Please, if you are able, join us in honoring them for GivingTuesday.

Together, we are The Hope Project.

Happy ThanksGIVING Tuesday!

Dear Friends of Hope,

Like most of you, thankfulness seems to feel different this year. We have experienced such a tumultuous year and though that isn’t waning necessarily, only shifting, gratitude is brimming over. Gratitude for those we love and who love us, for food and health, and for the possibility of HOPE in the midst of it all.

Particularly, we have collectively experienced gratitude for our nation’s teachers who continue to strive towards keeping our kids and our country grounded. Those of you managing education at home I’m certain are feeling this deeply.

Each year at The Hope Project we send our teachers and staff a monetary gift to help them celebrate the holidays with more ease in Liberia. Our Liberian staff is what keeps the HOPE in The Hope Project.

Be watching for GivingTuesday, an opportunity to participate in bringing joy to those who give themselves tirelessly to the future of Liberia.

Grateful for you. Grateful for them.

Happy Thanksgiving.
